To say it’s been a tumultuous few months is a massive understatement! I don’t know about you, but there have been days that I slid down that rabbit hole. Thankfully I’m aware when I dip into the abyss, and I’m able to use the many tools I’ve practiced and preached over the years to pull me out. One such tool is to harness the power of fun.
The science of fun
When we’re going through hard times, it’s easy to forget about having fun. You might be thinking ‘Grace, how in the world can you talk about having fun when there is so much chaos going on around us?’
It’s because I know how powerful it can be. If you’re not sure, a recent post by well-known healer and author, Emmanuel Dagher, might shift your perspective. Emmanuel spoke in detail about Dr. David Hawkins’s research over many years about positive and negative (or low/weak) energy. This is what he found:
“One individual who lives and vibrates to the energy of optimism and willingness to be nonjudgmental of others will counterbalance the negativity of 90,000 individuals who calibrate at the lower weakening levels. One individual who lives and vibrates to the energy of pure love and reverence for all of life will counterbalance the negativity of 750,000 individuals who calibrate at the lower weakening levels.”
Imagine that! When we choose to focus our energy on the positive, simply by having some fun, it can have a huge flow-on effect to those around us. After all, fun is totally infectious (the type of infection we’d all rather have, right?). If you’re in the fun flow, feeling good and loving life, it’s hard for those around you not to feel the same. It can make a phenomenal difference in your world and beyond.
Getting into the fun flow
Have you ever been in a shitty mood and really wanted to stay home rather than go to that party or event? But you force your ass up and go and once you’re there, you forget about your crappy mood. You end up having a great time, and you’re so happy you got off your booty and showed up.
This is due to the fact that you’re surrounded by other people who are feeling the flow, laughing and having fun. This high energy frequency alters your mood, raising it to a positive level, and putting you firmly in a good vibes state.
Consider what fun means for you
Now we all know the outside world is a little messed up at present. But we can be change makers by taking the time to have fun. I know for me, getting into the fun flow happens in many ways – it might be dancing or laughing with my friends, being out in nature, hearing the birds sing, or simply listening to the waves crash against the shore.
Take a moment now to consider a way you can take a break from the chaos and add some fun into your life. I would love to hear what you come up with!
